Join us August 5th with Amanda Banta from the Alzheimer's Association. Amanda is a clinical social worker with a decade of experience. She holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in social work and has specialized training in treating trauma and obsessive-compulsive disorders, identifying and preventing suicide, and working with the dementia population. During Amanda's career, she has worked with teenagers, adults, and older adults. She has worked with those having disabilities, acute and chronic illness, and terminal illness. Amanda has been volunteering with the Alzheimer's Association since 2018. In this volunteer role, Amanda has organized fundraisers, planned and implemented local Walk 2 End Alzheimer's events, and presented on various topics-including brain health and how to cope as a caregiver. Amanda also volunteers with The Junior League and enjoys spending time with her husband, reading, and traveling.
We will also receive a CPR demonstration from Whitni Molden with the American Heart Association. Whitni, a Tuscaloosa native and single mother of three, is a testament to resilience and determination. Juggling the demands of raising her children while pursuing her college education, Whitni embarked on a career journey that saw her rise from a drive thru cashier to the Director of Development for the West American Heart Association.
Her career has been marked by a series of strategic transitions across various industries, each contributing to her unique skill set and expansive network. Starting her career in the food and beverage industry, Whitni spent a decade honing her management skills as a general manager for local restaurant. Seeking a lifestyle change, she transitioned into the banking sector, where she quickly advanced from a bank teller to a Licensed Personal and Business banker. This experience in the financial sector laid the groundwork for her subsequent move into the insurance industry, where she specialized in Home and Auto insurance.
In 2021, Whitni took on a new challenge as the Sales and Marketing Manager at Hotel Capstone. This role not only expanded her professional network but also opened doors to more growth opportunities. Today, as the Director of Development for the West American Heart Association, Whitni leverages her diverse experience to make a significant impact in the field of health advocacy.
In addition to her role at the West American Heart Association, Whitni is also the founder of Molded By Molden, a small business consulting firm dedicated to helping diverse business owners achieve their dreams. This venture reflects her commitment to community development and her passion for fostering entrepreneurial spirit.
Beyond her professional life, Whitni is an active participant in various community outreach programs. Her contributions have earned her recognitions such as Tuscaloosa 40 under 40, United Way of West Alabama Young Leaders Award, the Junior League of Tuscaloosa’s Volunteer of the Year, and the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce Ambassador of the year and Distinguished service award. She also serves as the Vice President Elect for the Junior League of Tuscaloosa and the President for the Kristian Amerson Youth Foundation.
Whitni is a co-host for an upcoming podcast called “Perspectives”. The podcast is about navigating life and serves as a safe place to discuss different perspectives in order to gain understanding about each other.
